Marc Chaplin was enjoying a ride on his motorcycle in Horry County, South Carolina (SC) when his life came to a tragic, sudden end. His motorcycle collided with a school bus and caused major head trauma. Marc died at the scene, according to scnow.com. He was just 18 years old.

My deepest condolences go out to Mr. Chaplin’s friends and family. Any fatal accident is terrible, but it’s even worse when someone this young loses their life. Marc had a bright future ahead of him. He was a senior at the Academy of Arts, Science, and Technology.

Friends of Marc decided to post on the SCNow message board and decided to share their feelings about this tragic loss…

“I knew Marc. In fact, I had math class with him. He was such a nice person and it’s hard to believe he died this morning. It really shows how fragile life is, and how easily it can be taken away.”

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident to determine what exactly happened.
