Tuesday morning,April 7th, a Jackson Springs woman was killed in a three-car wreck on N.C. 211 near Taylortown, North Carolina (NC) around 8:00 in the morning.

Marion Helen O’Donnell, 94, was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, John Harrison O’Donnell. Their vehicle was traveling west on N.C. 211.

According to State Highway Patrol Trooper J.T. Gaddy, when he slowed for traffic, their car was struck in the rear by a car driven by Tricia Embler, of Southern Pines. The impact pushed O’Donnell’s car into the oncoming lane, which was then struck nearly head-on by a car driven by Ina Munn, of West End, North Carolina (NC), who was traveling east on N.C. 211.

All three people were transported to the First Health Moore Regional Hospital, where Marion O’Donnell died from sustained injuries. Munn and John Harrison O’Donnell were also transported to the hospital. He was listed in fair condition, while Munn was in good condition, according to a spokesperson for the hospital.

Trooper Gaddy said the wreck was still under investigation and that no charges have been filed.
