26 year-old Matthew Benoist and 31 year-old Brett Lindabury were both killed after Benoist lost control of his SUV on HWY 801. News 14 reported that the accident happened Thursday night April 2, 2009 in Iredell County, North Carolina. Benoist was driving a Ford Explorer and was trying to pass another car. When he pulled back into his lane to avoid oncoming traffic he lost control and hit a tree. Authorities stated speeding was a factor, but the accident was not alcohol related.
