Police in New Bern, North Carolina (NC) are investigating an accident involving a pedestrian on Neuse Boulevard at 9:30 Thursday night. They have reported that Jimmie Wesley Boyd (27) of New Bern was crossing Neuse Boulevard near Dunkin Donuts, when he crossed into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

According to authorities a Chrysler Cirrus traveling east on Neuse Boulevard toward downtown struck Boyd. Boyd was flown to Pitt Memorial Hospital for treatment, where police say he remains in stable condition today. The incident is still under investigation by members of the New Bern Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit. No charges have been filed.
