An 81-year-old driver was killed after being hit by a hearse in Greenville. The car accident happened last Tuesday. The man driving the hearse sustained only minor injuries.
The victim
was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis north on U.S. Highway 31, just north of Greenville. According to witnesses, he turned in front of a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the hearse tried to swerve in order to miss the other car, but they still collided. Both the victim and the other driver were taken to a local hospital. No charges have been filed and the accident is still under investigation.
