A pickup truck that was full of people was in involved in a single-car accident in Albertson and three people were killed. The accident happened on NC 111 North on Monday night. Two people in the truck were taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
The State Highway Patrol says eight people were in a truck, four in the cab, the other four in the truck bed, when the truck hit a ditch and slammed into trees. The four people in the truck bed were ejected, three were pronounced dead on the scene.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and the police are still investigating.
