A 28-year-old man driving a pickup truck  was injured in a car accident on N.C. 49 South in Alamance County.  The truck rolled several times before coming to a stop.  According to an eyewitness the truck was driving next to a red mustang before the accident.

The driver of the Mustang ended up hitting a neighbor’s mailbox and agreed to pay the damages. He was not issued a citation. Day said it was very possible that speed was a factor.

It is unknown what caused the accident to happen.  The driver of the pickup truck was not wearing a seat belt.  He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.  He claims the tire of his truck blew out causing the accident.  He is expected to recover.  The police are planning on issues citations for careless and reckless driving and not wearing a seat belt.
