A $3.2 million verdict was returned for a shopper by a Fairfax County jury for a crushed pelvis she suffered when a stack of countertops fell on her in 2006. The customer apparently incurred $75,000 in medical bills, underwent two surgeries, incurred $50,000 in lost wages and suffered permanent physical limitations. The Plaintiff apparently offered the testimony of an expert witness who testified that it was unsafe to have eight foot long counters stacked vertically with only bungee cords to secure them. The verdict came on April 9, 2009, after a four day trial.
