A yogurt recall has been issued for Stonyfield Farm’s Organic Fat-free Blueberry Yogurt in six ounce containers.  The company has received reports of small fragments of glass or plastic being found in the yogurt.  No injuries have been reported and the company called the recall “precautionary.”

Stonyfield Farms news release said that all consumers returning the recalled product will be reimbursed for the full value of their purchase, and to return any opened or unopened container to the store of purchase.

“Our first priority has always been and always will be the welfare of our consumers,” says Gary Hirshberg, Stonyfield Farm President and “CE-Yo.”

“We are taking this voluntary step to ensure that we identify any product that does not meet our standards of quality and food safety,” he said.

Anyone that purchased the yogurt and has further questions can also call the company directly at 1-800-PRO-COWS.  No other Stonyfield yogurt is involved in the recall.  The yogurt was distributed across the country.
