A recent two truck collision occurred on NC Highway 168 in Currituck County that involved an 18-wheel truck and a beer truck. They collided on N.C. 168 about 10 a.m. blocking both lanes of the five-lane highway.

According to authorities the traffic was diverted to Snowden Road on the north side of the accident and to N.C. 34 on the south side for most of the remaining day. The collision happened just north of the intersection of N.C. 168 and N.C. 34.

Fortunately, there are no known serious injuries according to Currituck County Sheriff Susan Johnson. One of the trucks spilled about 25 gallons of fuel and Currituck County Emergency Management handled the spill.

Sheriff Johnson said that the 18-wheeler had turned over and was lying across the all lanes of traffic. The N.C. State Highway Patrol and the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident.
