55-year-old Thomas Eugene Horton was traveling East on First Street in Ahoskie, NC when he was struck by a car. A witness who lived nearby the accident heard a loud crash and went outside to investigate. The witness saw a white, older model Ford Escort leaving the scene. Authorities are searching for the white Ford Escort, but at this point have not found the car. Horton, the hit and run victim, was transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC and is in stable condition.

Ahoskie Police Lt. Detective Jeremy Roberts said, “We’re asking anyone with information on someone who drives a white, older model Ford Escort to contact us immediately.” APD Detective Sgt. Stephen White at 252-332-5011 can be contacted with any information regarding the owner of the white Ford Escort in question.
