A man from Spartanburg SC has been charged in a drunk driving crash that killed a North Carolina man in June.

The driver, a 32 year old male, has been charged with felony driving under the influence involving death, as well as two counts of felony DUI resulting in injury.

The South Carolina State Police stated that the man was driving his car in Spartanburg on June 8 when he lost control and slammed into another vehicle. The police also noted that the suspected drunk driver was traveling at 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone.

The victim was a 57 year old male and he died at the scene.

Our View

Our drunk driving attorneys who are licensed in Virginia and North Carolina have no patience whatsoever for convicted drunk drivers. We aggressively sue them in court for millions of dollars in many cases. While those funds will not bring back a family’s loved one, at the very least they have funds they can use to plan for a life without their family member.

In other drunk driving cases, the victim lived but his life is never the same. One of our former attorneys represented a man who was struck by a drunk driver while he was walking into the gym. The drunk driver drove up onto the sidewalk and hit him. His lower leg was shattered and required four surgeries. While we were pleased to settle the case for $100,000, that money was small compensation for the many months of recovery this innocent man underwent.
