6 year-old boy dies in Greensboro, NC car accident

John Quoc Vong’s mother, Nga Thi Nguyet Ngo, was driving down Kings Mill Rd in Greensboro, North Carolina when a vehicle backed out a driveway and hit their SUV. Ngo’s SUV rolled over after hitting the other vehicle and Vong was thrown from the vehicle. According to patrol officers, Vong was not wearing a seatbelt. . 6 year-old Vong died as a result of the Friday morning accident. There were no reports stating if Ngo was injured. The driver of the other car, Garrison Spencer Clark, was uninjured. The two car accident is still under investigation and according to WFMY News State Troopers have not stated in charges will be filed on the accident.

According to North Carolina Child Passenger Safety Law, “A properly used child restraint device (CRD) is required if the child is less than 8 years old AND weighs less than 80 pounds. Most parents and other care givers will be able to comply by using belt-positioning booster seats for children between 40 and 80 pounds. The child must be within the weight range for the child restraint/booster seat and it must meet Federal standards in effect at time of manufacture.”
